PEG 300 Monostearate
PEG 300 Monostearate is a non-ionic fatty acid ester.
The polyethylene glycol portion provides hydrophilic character, while the stearate group provides affinity for oils and other lipophilic materials. This combination enables PEG 300 Monostearate to function as an emulsifier, dispersing agent, wetting aid and consistency modifier in a range of cosmetic, textile and industrial formulations.
Compared with PEG 200 Monostearate, the longer polyethylene glycol chain generally gives PEG 300 Monostearate greater hydrophilic character. Its precise composition and performance depend on the PEG molecular-weight distribution, fatty-acid composition, degree of esterification and individual product specification.
